Spaceness Festival

Spaceness Festival

We were asked to participate in a festival called Spaceness at Sou’Wester Lodge in Seaview, WA. The weekend consisted of various artists like Andy Behrle who projection mapped massive balloons (and our dome) and Lisa Ward who hung geometric pods around the lodge with galactic video messages hidden within. Upon setting up our dome, we quickly paired up with the crew from The Original Nomad, who make beautiful portable hot tubs. We think they go wonderfully with our hammock filled dome.

Musical performances happened throughout the event as well by Matthew Emmons and Jed & Nick Bindeman of Eternal Tapestry along with many more. Everyone who came out to the festival made an effort to contribute to the experience. A Columbia River guide named Bob Duke lead a planetary discussion entitled, “Our Place in the Universe – Why We’re Not Alone.”

souwester5souwester9We rounded out the weekend with a trek down the nearby beach to watch the sunset and explore tide pools. Eventually we reached a cove with jagged rocks that begged to be climbed upon. After making it around the bend we found a cave and crawled in just about as far as our bodies would fit.

We can’t wait to visit the Sou’Wester Lodge again.
